Some of you may have seen a few pictures of me on the internet lately, mostly with my family, and it appears that I am wearing a bunch of leis around my neck, I am wearing a wizard outfit with purple stripes.  These pictures are evidence that I graduated dental school on Saturday, June 10!

I have been doing a lot of thinking about this milestone in my life...I spent more of my life from high school graduation to dental school graduation than I did from the day I was born until high school graduation, that's right folks, it took me 19 years after high school graduation to finish dental school!  And the amazing thing is that I wasn't even the oldest in my dental class (I was the second oldest, the third oldest was only 2 weeks behind me).  Between the 3 oldest of us there are: 13 kids and 1 grandchild, pretty amazing if you ask me.  I have a lot of respect and admiration for these guys, and the other 41 of my classmates and all they had to endure, it was truly an amazing journey that we all shared, and I know that my classmates will do tremendous things in their careers.  Hopefully, we will be able to get together again.  Here we (the old guys) are:

What a ride it was.  I shared this ride with my saint of a wife, and our 6 kids.  I often get asked the question (after people find out I have 6 kids) how I was able to do it.  The answer is easy, because my wife is amazing!  I had the easy job between the 2 of us, I just had to go to school and pass my classes, while she had to be at home with 6 very rambunctious kids that are all 6 years apart.  I don't know how she did it!  She is the one that needs to be asked the question: how did you make it through dental school with 6 kids

Now that dental school is over, it is time to take a little bit of a break before I start my pediatric dental residency.  Emily and I are going to CANADA! Banff National Park to be more specific.  With all of the social media that we have right at our fingertips, everyone already knows a lot of our adventures so far in the land to our north (since I am writing this post from there).  I will be posting more pictures of our trip later, so stay tuned!
